The Greek island, of Tinos is located in the Aegean Sea, in the northern part of the Cycladic archipelago. It can be called unique because the history of the development of the image has influenced the history of Hellas. There are architectural sights and sculptures and also the way of life of the islanders.

The island is considered a gathering place for the orthodox pilgrims, but more recently the beach infrastructure has been developed as well. Exoburgo

The place is famous because here were found the ruins of an ancient settlement, which in ancient times was the main city of the island. Here you can admire the sanctuary of Demeter and Persephone and wander between the ruins of the Venetian fortress that was built on the site of the Acropolis. The hill of this archaeological site offers a stunning view of the surrounding island. 


Ancient Kyonia

The ruins of an ancient sanctuary, are considered the largest and most important on the island. Excavations date back to the 4th century BC.


Sanctuary of Poseidon and Amphitheria

The ruins of the temple are located in the village of Kionia. The temple was built in the 5th century BC. For a long time, even during the Roman and Hellenistic periods, Poseidon was worshipped and this Greek god was honored on the island.


The Temple of the Evangelists

The church was built on the site where an icon of the Epiphany of the Madonna was found. This temple is an important Christian temple not only on the island but also in the whole of Greece. The walls of the temple are decorated with marble, paintings, and icons. The temple is located in the capital of the island and is open to the public. The miraculous icon found in this place is still kept in the temple. It is believed to be endowed with the power of healing, wish-fulfillment, and protection from evil.


The Monastery of the Holy Trinity

Located in the capital of the island. It was built in the 11th century. The monastery attracts attention not only with magnificent interior decoration but also with rare icons kept here for centuries.


The Mausoleum of the Shipwreck Victims "Ellis" and the Church of Evresis

The mausoleum commemorates those people who were on the passenger liner that was wrecked off the coast of Tinos. The church was built on the site of the sanctuary of Dionysus, a part of which was dedicated to the theater of Dionysus and Poseidon. When you visit the church you can see the preserved excavations of the ancient temple.


Pigeon houses of the island of Tinos

Located in the valley of the village of Tarambados, where you can see more than 200 of these bizarre buildings. Under this name hide the houses, from 7 to 8 meters high, which were used to shelter the pigeons of the island during the Venetian rule.

Although Tinos is not considered a beach island, there are still some nice coves, where you can rest beautifully. In addition, the beaches of the island are quite landscaped and offer a traditional tourist holiday by the sea. Not far from the capital you will find the beach of St. Foka, which is protected from strong winds by rocks. East of the capital, 6 km away, is the charming and sandy beach of St. Sostia. Tourists who love romance rest in the seaside village of Isternia or the bay of Colimbitra.

The island of Tinis is about 80m from Athens. It is more comfortable to visit this island via Is. Kea and the island. Andros. The prevailing winds in the area are northwest and therefore it is very easy to reach Tinos by sailboat.


The marina facilities at Tinos

This island has a municipal marina. There is enough mooring space for 20-30 sailing and motor yachts. The cost of overnight parking in this marina is formal, about 4-6 euros per boat, not including the cost of connection to shore communications.

  • Parking in the marina is anchored, there are enough places to lay out a long chain.

  • The depth at the pier is about 3 m.

  • There is a shore connection to water and electricity for about 8 euros.
